Flat Japan Steel Scrap Composite Price

Japan Steel Scrap Composite Prices, which are averaged ferrous scrap market price in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, were unchanged at 18,100 yen per tonne for H2 grade and at 21,100 yen for new cutting press at the dealers’ purchase price including freight last week.

Local dealers’ ferrous scrap purchase price was unchanged at around 19,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Tokyo last week. The dealers around Tokyo bay see local steel makers would not decrease scrap purchase price more when export price increased for East Asia. The scrap supply gets tight and some local electric furnace steel makers increased the purchase price. The dealers see the market price could increase.

Local dealers’ scrap purchase price was unchanged at 16,300 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Nagoya last week. The price was unchanged for around 3 weeks.

Local dealers’ ferrous scrap purchase price was around 18,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka last week. Some local dealers sell the scrap at higher price for some local electric furnace steel makers in transactions with certain conditions. However, the market price has not really increased yet.
