JFE Engineering Builds Up Overseas Order Acceptance

JFE Engineering’s overseas business division plans to increase order acceptances by operative expansion in North America as well as in already covered areas such as Southeast Asia, Europe and China. The division eyes investment into overseas engineering companies or M&A. In the second half of fiscal 2011 (October-March 2012), the division aims more than 30 billion yen of order receipt when large project orders are expected to emerge. For next three years of fiscal 2012-2014, order receipt target is 50-70 billion yen per year.

JFE Engineering has successfully got market share in Southeast Asia. The division continues to appeal the company’s high technology mainly for refuse incinerator plants, sewerage facilities, as well as energy industry including pipe line, solar power or geothermal generation.

In Europe, JFE Engineering had accepted an order for sewerage facilities in Italy. The division tries to take a following order in Italy and seeks business chances in other European countries. In China, JFE Engineering has operated a local company in Shanghai and will establish the next site in Beijing at the beginning of 2012. The firm aims to improve profitability by order receipts related to sewerage plant and recycling.
