Ahresty’s Die Casting Order Receipt Decreases along Thai Flood

Ahresty, Japanese major die casting maker, is decreasing production at domestic and North American plants when orders are decreasing from one of main customers, Honda Motor, due to flood in Thailand. Tokai plant in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan entered output adjustment in November when order volume from Honda is decreasing. Ahresty Wilmington Corporation, Ahresty’s subsidiary in the U.S.A., is also decreasing output volume of die casting. Honda’s productive operation is globally impacted by component shortage caused by Thai flood.

Automotive component makers’ demand is sharply weakening for secondary aluminium alloy. Japanese alloy users are in price negotiations for Chinese AD12.1 grade alloy import of January 2012 shipment. Several trader sources point out alloy users show an intention to decrease alloy purchasing volume with a concern on output reduction at the year end or in early January.

Japanese major secondary aluminium alloy makers presently keep high operation. However, one alloy maker said order receipt volume might downturn within this month.
