Ferrous scrap market price slightly decreased around Tokyo. The price is around 20,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade, around 21,800 yen for H1 grade and around 23,500 yen for HS grade at the dealers’ purchase price including freight. Local electric furnace steel makers’ purchase price is 26,500-27,500 yen for H2 grade.
Local electric furnaces reduced ferrous scrap purchase price due to weak export price. Tokyo Steel Manufacturing reduced the price by 500 yen per tonne for all plants including Utsunomiya plant on Wednesday. Ferrous scrap market price would decrease from around 19,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Osaka.
