Yodogawa Steel Works to Start China Coating Project

Japanese major steel re-roller, Yodogawa Steel Works announced on Tuesday the firm established pending Chinese coated steel making subsidiary, Yodogawa-Shengyu (Hefei) High-Tech Steel on October 28. The firm will launch the construction of the plant in late November starting the operation in April 2013.

Yodogawa Steel Works controls 60% of the subsidiary with US$ 100 million of capital. Yodogawa Steel Works’ Taiwanese subsidiary, Sheng Yu Steel holds 40% share in the Chinese company.

Yodogawa Steel Works established the Chinese subsidiary in Hefei Economic & Technological Development Area in Hefei, Anhui of China. The subsidiary starts the operation at 310,000 tonnes of annual production capacity for galvanized steel and 210,000 tonnes for color coated steel with a continuous galvanizing line, two continuous color coating line, two shearing machines and two slitters. The firm eyes color coated steel supply for home electronics industry in China.
