Ye Chiu Metal Recycling (China) to Expand Taicang Capacity by 52%

Chinese major secondary aluminium alloy maker, Ye Chiu Metal Recycling (China) plans large capacity expansion at Taicang plant in Jiangsu Province. The plant will add three sets of large-size melting and holding furnaces and raise the plant’s output capacity by 52% to 38,000 tonnes per month after the firm gains approval from Taicang local government. The plant is expected to lower production cost and enhance sales competitiveness by capacity expansion. Ye Chiu Metal Recycling eyes sales share expansion in Chinese and Japanese markets.

The company’s official person met Japan Metal Bulletin in Taicang City and revealed the expansion plan. Taicang plant currently keeps full production at 24,000 tonnes per month. Six sets of a

100-tonne melting furnace and an 80-tonne holding furnace are in operation. The plant plans to install additional three sets of a 150-tonne melting furnace and a 100-tonne holding furnace.

Ye Chiu Metal Recycling applied the capacity expansion plan to Taicang local government in September. The approval result will appear at the beginning of 2012. The expansion works will start as soon as the company receives the permission and complete by the end of 2012.

Taicang plant exports 60% of its secondary aluminium alloy production and 70% of the export is bound for Japan. The plant plans to keep the exporting ratio even after the capacity expansion and increase the alloy shipment to Japanese market. Ye Chiu Metal Recycling hit the top sales share of secondary aluminium alloy in Japanese market as Chinese secondary aluminium alloy maker this year. The firm tries to increase the supply volume and raise the market share more in Japan.
