Indium Market Price Continues to Decline in Japan

Indium market price dropped by 3,000 yen to 57,000-62,000 yen per kilogram around Tokyo last week for low grade ingot mainly for alloys. International spot price, the indicator, is weakening. The spot price in Europe is currently surveyed at US$ 640-740 per kg by Reuters. The medium price is US$ 690 but, Japanese rare metal trader points out the actual mid price has already downed to below US$ 600.

There seems to be sales of low-priced ingot inventories from Taiwan and Hong Kong when market demand for indium maintains stagnant along with output adjustment of liquid crystal panels. The Japanese trader said international market price may continue lowering to around US$ 550 this week.

Japanese domestic market price has reached below 60,000 yen by reflection of weak international indicator. Meanwhile, the trader source said there are stable orders from domestic solder makers and the market price seems not to drop largely.
