Nisshin Steel’s Kure Iron Works Exploits to the Full Hot Rolling Mill

Kure iron works of Nisshin Steel completes refresh work of hot rolling mill for improvement of quality and efficiency of production since 2008 until the middle of November 2011.The works invests at about 19 million yen to the work. The works exploits to the full hot rolling mill and aims top for operation rate and energy consumption rate in Vietnam.

The works renewed motor of reverses roughing mill for improvement of manufacturing capacity, all rolling mill’s motor to alternate motor and one down coiler, which increased new down coiler.

The works increased production capacity of hot rolling mill by about 4% by refresh work and reduced failure risk by alternate current motor. The works will improve production efficiency and quality including to renewal of process computer.

The works is advancing improvement work of furnace cooling system for long service life of blast furnace. The works renews cooling system to copper stave which has high heat conductivity from casting iron stave. The works alternates cooling system to copper stave with no.2 blast furnace following to no.1 blast furnace in 2004-2005. The works will complete work in 2015.

As for manufacturing process of pig iron, the works renewed cokes plant dust collector as environmental measure of raw material field, and installs tight conveyer. As for sinter process, the works set stand of sinter machine for handling of various iron ore and installed Eirich mixer.
