Japan Steel Scrap Composite Price Hits First Decrease in 5 Weeks

Japan Steel Scrap Composite Prices, which are averaged ferrous scrap market price in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, decreased last week for the first time in 5 weeks. The price decreased by 300 yen to 26,600 yen per tonne for H2 grade at the dealers’ purchase price. The price decreased by 300 yen to 29,800 yen for new cutting press.

The dealers’ ferrous scrap purchase price decreased by 500 yen to around 29,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Tokyo last week. Local electric furnace steel makers’ purchase price decreased by 500 yen to 35,000-36,000 yen for H2 grade and some makers pay 37,000 yen.

The dealers’ purchase price decreased by 500 yen to 24,300 yen for H2 grade around Nagoya last week. Local electric furnace steel makers’ purchase price decreased to around 35,000 yen for H2 grade and to around 37,500 yen for new cutting press.

The dealers’ purchase price decreased by 500 yen to around 25,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka last week. Local electric furnace steel makers’ purchase price decreased to around 34,500-35,000 yen and some makers pay around 35,500 yen.
