Tokyo Steel to Start Pickling Coil Production on September 17

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, Japanese largest electric furnace steel maker, starts commercial operation of a pickling line in Tahara works on September 17. The firm plans to produce pickling steel coil at 10,000 tonnes per month and supply the products mainly to coil centers and dealers.

Tahara works produces pickling steel coil with 1.5-6.0 millimeters of thickness and 800-1,625 millimeters of width. The works acquired Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) for pickling steel coil on August 30. The works launched hot run of the pickling line on August 1. The first commercial shipment is scheduled at the end of September. Tokyo Steel also examines direct sales to the users.

Tokyo Steel aims to increase steel production for manufacturing industry such as automobile and electric appliance makers at Tahara works. The firm has provided sample products of Tahara works to automobile and component makers.
