Shinko Wire Company Renews Drawing Machine for PC Steel Wire

Shinko Wire Company, Japanese major steel wire maker for building construction and the subsidiary of Kobe Steel, plans to renew a dry drawing machine for precast concrete in Amagasaki factory, Hyogo, Japan to improve productivity and product quality in early 2012. The company will invest total 145 million yen for the renewal.

Wire drawing speed will double with the new facility. Thus Shinko Wire can reduce a drawing line, which contributes to higher productivity and lower productive cost. The firm plans to install and start operation of the new drawing machine in March-April 2012.

The firm completed the renewal work of pickling equipment with approximately 140 million yen investment at the end of May. The productivity improved by 50%, keeping pickling capacity at 5,000 tonnes per month as before.

The firm plans to install an ultrasonic test equipment for large diameter stainless steel wire for cold header at Shinko Wire Stainless Company, the subsidiary. Product quality control such for screw or bolt would be improved.
