Tsuda Electric Wire & Cable Increases Cable Output

Kyoto based electric cable maker, Tsuda Electric Wire & Cable increases telecommunication cable output. The firm’s copper consumption volume in April-June was 15% higher than originally planned when the demand increased for restoration of the major earthquake damage. The firm suspends production lines optimization to respond the demand while the firm planned the optimization within fiscal 2011 ending in March 2012.

Tsuda Electric Wire & Cable has 3 production lines in the telecommunication cable plant and 2 lines are in operation. The firm originally planned to transfer the lines to power cable plant and optimize coating lines to improve production efficiency. However, the firm suspends the optimization to respond the demand for the restoration of the quake damage. The firm’s sales were firm not only for telecommunication cable but also for power cable. The firm originally expected recurring loss for first half of fiscal 2011. However, the firm would post the recurring profit.
