Nikkeikin ACT to Open Third China Plant

Nippon Light Metal’s aluminium extruding subsidiary, Nikkeikin Aluminium Core Technology opens aluminium automotive parts making plant in Longkou, Shandong of China. The firm also increases the production capacity of the plant in Shanghai to respond growing car demand in China.

The new automotive parts plant in Longkou is Nikkeikin ACT’ s third Chinese plant. The plant fabricates aluminium extrusion made by local maker, which Nikkeikin ACT provided the technology support. Nippon Light Metal’s group company, Nippon Fruehauf also purchases aluminium extrusion from the maker to make trailer in Shandong.

Nikkeikin ACT’s sun-roof lane making subsidiary, Nikkei (Shanghai) Body Parts adds 2 items to 12 items to supply for US and European parts makers. The firm prepares for capacity expansion to rent an adjacent site.

Nippon Light Metal announced last year the firm tries to increase the sales of automobile business to 89 billion yen through fiscal 2012 ending March 2013 from 68.7 billion yen in fiscal 2009.
