Koshuha All Metal Service to Increase Heat Treatment Equipment in Central Japan

Nippon Koshuha Steel Co., Ltd. announced on Friday that it increased the heat treatment equipment of Central Japan techno center of Koshuha All Metal Service Co., Ltd., which is its wholly-owned subsidiary and whose head office is located in Ota City of Gunma Prefecture. The center is in Seto City of Aichi Prefecture, Central Japan. That increase is as part of Nippon Koshuha’s reinforcing sales of tool steel. Nippon Koshuha group already planned increase of the equipment as the second investment in its midterm management plan called “CAP780.” But the firm was unable to deal with demand increases of some of its products. So it accelerated the second investment. 1 vacuum quenching furnace weighing 1.2 tonnes was increased in December in the center, and the full operation has started since January. Thanks to the increase, the center has 3 vacuum quenching furnaces and 6 tempering furnaces, which means its production capacity increases by about 80% from the existing capacity. The center was established in July 2004. There is the largest kind of oil cryogenic treatment equipment in heat treatment businesses in Japan at the center. The center makes it possible to perform heat treatment of large hot dies of die-casting dies, etc. It contributes to improvement of die life through the technology of warping decline and strength. There is a lot of inquiries of KDA1S, the steel for die-casting and KD11S, the cold die steel, which are Nippon Koshuha’s products, from costumers. Nippon Koshuha has developed the network of Koshuha All Metal Service in the whole Japanese country to strengthen distribution of tool steel. The firm stockpiles steel products and perform processing and heat treatment as an integrated manner in 5 bases in Japan.
