Aluminum Demand in China to Increase 15 million tonnes in 2020

Japanese Aluminum Association edited about the latest aluminum circumstances in China recently. According to that, the virgin aluminum ingot demand in China in 2020 will increase almost double to 15 million tonnes from 7 million tonnes in 2005. On the other hand, the production of virgin aluminum ingot will increase by about 45% from 2005 to 11.3 million tonnes in 2010. The aluminum demand and the production in China are expected to increase as Chinese economy develops. The details of aluminum demand in Chine were that construction sector accounts for 32%, for electric power accounts for 23%, for container wrapping accounts for 11%, and for durable consumer goods accounts for 10%. In Japan, aluminum demand for automobile-related field accounts for 30% and it’s a main user. But in China, for automobile-related field was only 8%. However, the association forecasts that the aluminum demand for cars would increase to 2.5 million tonnes in 2010, and it expects that the demand for transport machine would exceed 3 million tonnes in 2010.
