Steel Turning Scrap Price Increases in Tokyo

Steel turning scrap price increased by 500 yen from the previous week under rise of export price in Tokyo. It is around 8,400 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, and around 11,400 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap, to around 10,400 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at dealers purchase price including freight in Tokyo. Export price increased slightly at mainly Tokyo bay area for the first time in 3 months since middle of last November under winner price had increased greatly on international tender held by Tokyo-based ferrous scrap dealers body, and the market price is likely to continue firm. However, Utsunomiya plant of Tokyo Steel Manufacturing increased the scrap purchase price by 500 yen on Friday. Several electric furnace steel makers on Tokyo bay area already increased the spot price by around 1,000 yen per tonne, and electric furnace steel makers purchase price is likely to keep strong tone. Ferrous scrap price is firm in Osaka. The market price is 10,500 yen per tonne for H2.
