Marubeni-Itochu Steel to Build New Steel Service Center in Mexico

Marubeni-Itochu Steel announced on Monday the US subsidiary, Marubeni Itochu Steel America (MISA) will build new steel service center with 170,000 tonnes of annual processing capacity for US$ 8 million in Mexico. The firm starts construction in April completing in December. The firm tries to expand the steel sales with the new center when the local automobile and appliances makers will expand the output. The firm establishes new joint venture with National Material, which is major US based metal processor. MISA controls more than 50% of the JV with US$ 4 million of capital and operates the plant in Queretaro of Mexico. National Material has steel service center in USA, Canada, Mexico and China. The firm operates 2 flat steel processing sites in Monterrey and Hermosillo.
