Japan Stainless Flat Steel Import Jumps by 69% in January

Japanese stainless hot rolled flat steel import increased by 66% to 4,946 tonnes in January from December, according to Ministry of Finance. The cold rolled steel import increased by 71.4% to 8,871 tonnes, which reached 8,000 tonnes for the first time in 8 months. The total stainless flat steel import increased by 69.4% to 13,816 tonnes. The flat steel import surged by 5,000 tonnes in the month after the import decreased to less than 10,000 tonnes in December for the first time in 5 months.
