Sheared Steel Plate Inventory in All Japan to Increase by 2.1% in January

There has been a delay in the adjustment of the steel plate inventory. The amount of the sheared steel plate inventory of the coil centers in all Japan in the end of January increased to 490,000 tonnes by 2.1% over the previous month, according to Japan Steel Plate Shearing Industrial Guild. It seems that the inventory rose because the shipment dropped by the heavy snow, the long?pending of the construction schedule by the disguise issue of the earthquake resistant for the building or the seasonal influence during the year-end and New Year. The inventory rate which shows the balance of the supply and demand rose to 215% against the amount of the shipment in January. The amount of the un-dimension lumber shipment and the receipt decreased over the previous month and the amount of the un-dimension lumber inventory didn’t change. The shearing volume by the coil centers which is the indication of the operation decreased to 197,000 tonnes by 4.7% over the previous month and increased by 0.6% over the same month of last year. The amount of the steel plate production in all Japan in January increased by 10% over the previous month and by 5% over the same month of last year because the demand for the shipbuilding is good though the demand for the construction or the civil is weak.
