Japan Steel Export Decreases to 2.53 Million Tonnes in February

Japanese steel export decreased by 8.3% to 2.535 million tonnes in February from a year ago, which increased by 10.8% to 250.47 billion yen in value. Japanese steel import decreased by 31.5% to 521,499 tonnes in February from a year earlier, decreasing by 21.3% to 48.763 billion yen in value.The steel export increased by 51.7% bound for the U.S.A. from a year ago, while decreasing bound for other nations. The export decreased by 1.5% for Asian area, especially by 1% for China. In value the export increased by 51.9% bound for the U.S.A., by 48.9% for European Union (EU) and by 5% for Asian area. For China the export value rose by 16.6%.The steel import from the U.S.A. increased by 6.8% and by 1.6% from EU, while which decreased by 38.6% from Asian area. The import especially decreased by 68.4% from China. In value the import from the U.S.A. increased by 62.8% and by 22% from EU, while decreasing by 32.4% from Asia, especially by 51% from China.
