Mitsui Mining & Smelting Raises Zinc Price by 20,000 yen/t

Mitsui Mining & Smelting announced on Monday the firm increased the official zinc ingot price by 20,000 yen to record 439,000 yen per tonne for April shipment under higher offshore price. The averaged monthly price increased by 5,000 yen to 402,600 yen. Indicative zinc price increased by US$ 93 to record US$ 3,297 per tonne at settlement of London Metal Exchange on Friday from previous day. Speculators bought the metal aggressively when International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) announced the metal supply was 96,000 tonnes of short in January-February.
