Osaka Steel Hikes Angle and Channel by 2,000 yen/t

Osaka Steel will increase the selling price of equal and unequal angle and channel by 2,000 yen per tonne for June order. The hike is the first hike for the firm since September order in 2004. The firm also revises the extra charge for some sizes. The supply is tight for base size products with firm demand. The domestic makers produce and sell the product to meet the demand level and the total supply is balanced. The makers face higher cost for energy and energy caused materials. The firm decided the 2,000 yen per tonne of price hike for June order when the firm cannot cover all of the higher cost by own effort.
