Japan Rebar Export Increases in April

Japanese concrete reinforcing steel bar export was 44,511 tonnes in April, increasing by 25.1% from March and by 3.4% from a year ago, according to Ministry of Finance. The export was 20,672 tonnes for South Korea, increasing by 25.7% from March and decreasing by 34.7% from a year ago, 21,134 tonnes for the U.S.A., increasing by 34.3% from March and to 4.2 times from a year ago, 1,027 tonnes for Thailand, increasing to 2.2 times from March and decreasing by 45.4% from a year ago, and 832 tonnes for Vietnam, increasing to 2.2 times from March and to 4 times from a year ago.Japanese billet export was 70,935 tonnes in April, decreasing by 19.6% from March and by 48.6% from a year ago. The export was 40,120 tonnes for South Korea which decreased by 25.2% from March and by 37.9% from a year ago, 18,749 tonnes for Taiwan which increased by 7.8% from March and decreased by 50% from a year ago and zero for Vietnam.
