Electric furnace steel makers’ ferrous scrap purchase price increased by 500 yen to 25,000-26,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade from last week around Osaka. The dealers also increased the purchase price by around 500 yen. Osaka based Kishiwada Steel and Shinkansai Steel increased the purchase price by 500 yen per tonne for other than turning scrap on May 26 and 30 respectively. Osaka Steel increased the price by 1,000 yen for other than turning scrap and L2 grade on June 2. Himeji based Yamato Steel increased the price by 500 yen to 26,500 yen per tonne, with which the firm pays 500 yen of extra freight charge for purchase from other areas, for H2 on May 27. Kishiwada Steel increased the price by 700-1,000 yen for other than turning scrap on June 3. Some makers added some extra charges.
