POSCO to Start Stainless Steel Making and Hot Rolling in Zhangjiagang

POSCO of South Korea will start the operation of stainless steel making and hot rolling at Zhangjiagang POSCO Stainless Steel in China in July after the completion of construction. The firm ships the hot rolled stainless steel for the cold rolling mill at annual 400,000 tonnes and for Qingdao Pohang Stainless Steel at 200,000 tonnes. The plant is the first Chinese integrated operations from steel making to finished products for the firm including carbon steel products. POSCO produces annual 2.3 million tonnes of hot rolled stainless steel at the Pohang works in South Korea to ship internal cold rolling mill and South Korean reroll makers. The firm tries to produce stainless flat steel at cold rerolling mills in Qingdao and Zhangjiagang along with South Korean operation.
