Japan Official Copper Price Returns to 900,000 Yen/t

Nippon Mining & Metals announced on Monday the firm raised official copper ingot price by 30,000 yen to 900,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in July from the price at the end of June. The price reached 900,000 yen for the first time since 910,000 yen on June 9. Japanese smelters’ breakeven point with imported copper ore is estimated to be more than 903,000 yen per tonne including 43,000 yen of premium and other charge based on NY kerb on Friday, which represented US$ 7,450 per tonne at LME cash price.Mitsui Mining & Smelting announced on Monday the firm raised official zinc ingot price by 35,000 yen to 414,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in July from the price at the end of June. The price was revised up for the first time in a month and recovered to over 400,000 yen after 3 weeks thanks to the high zinc market at overseas.Mitsubishi Materials announced on Monday the firm revised up official lead ingot price by 4,000 yen to 157,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in July from the price at the end of June. The price returned to the level as high as a month ago due to the firm lead market at overseas.
