Nippon Steel Engineering Gets Electric Furnace Order from Taiyuan

Nippon Steel Engineering Corporation, which is newly established engineering business subsidiary of Nippon Steel, announced on Monday the firm, Marubeni Corporation and Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering of China got order for an electric furnace and related equipment from Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group of China. They got the order with the environmental conscious offer. The order is apparently several billion yen. Taiyuan Steel starts the building works soon and plans hot running by the end on July 2007. Taiyuan Steel removes old small electric furnace with environmental pollution to introduce a state of the art environmental friendly ultra high power electric furnace with 90 tonnes of capacity as a part of environmental action by Taiyuan city. The new electric furnace has environmental friendly equipments including advanced dust collector with efficient vacuuming and better working environment and gas cooler with air cooling pipe to prevent dust accumulation, which causes dioxin. Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering procures materials and equipment and assembly the equipment. They won the tender, for which European firms submitted offers, due to the advanced technology including environmental measures of Nippon Steel Engineering and coordination of Marubeni along with the cost competitiveness.
