Sumitomo Wiring Systems announced on Wednesday the firm had established a new company to perform all mold businesses for wiring harness components. The new company integrates design, fabrication, procurement and maintenance of all molds for wiring harness components and supplies the molds to SWS group affiliates both domestic and overseas to manufacture the components. SWS aims shorter lead time and less productive cost for automotive wiring harness by the integration. The new company starts operation this month, which targets 6 billion of net sales in fiscal 2007 ending March 2008 and 7.5 billion yen in fiscal 2008.The new company, Sumi Denso Precision, locates within SWS Suzuka works in Mie Prefecture, Japan. The capital is 80 million yen wholly invested by SWS. The company starts operation with 120 employees.Wiring harness components include plastic molded products such as connectors and junction blocks and metal stamped products such as terminals. SWS designs these components and the affiliated component makers fabricated and procured molds for the components each by each so far. Sumi Denso Precision covers all mold businesses including design, fabrication, procurement and maintenance instead of the affiliates.
