Tokyo Steel Leaves Prices Unchanged for September

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing announced on Monday the firm left the selling price unchanged for all items for September order, which the firm accepts until August 23. The firm keeps the price for 2 months in a row. The firm tries to wait the chance to increase the price when the worldwide steel demand keeps increasing despite of the temporally slow market due to summer holiday. The firm said the export price is FOB US$ 580 per tonne for hot rolled coil for September shipment and the firm keeps negotiating for October shipment at US$ 540. The firm reduced the output slightly to around 100,000 tonnes of hot coil and by 30,000 tonnes to 130,000 tonnes of H-beam in July from June due to maintenance. The firm expects the output increases in August from July after the maintenance outage.
