Japan Steel Export Rises by 16.8% in July

Japanese steel export increased by 16.8% to 2.986 million tonnes in July from a year earlier, announced by Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. The export value increased by 16.5% to 291.87 billion yen. The steel import decreased by 11.5% to 614,681 tonnes and by 11.5% to 58.696 billion yen.The steel export volume increased by 49.8% for USA, 19.2% for European Union and by 10.4% for Asia in July from a year earlier. The export volume increased by 22.9% for China. The export value increased by 27.2% for USA, by 41% for EU and by 9.3% for Asia. The export value increased by 24.8% for China.The steel import volume decreased by 17.3% from USA, by 11% from EU and by 6.6% from Asia in July from a year earlier while the import increased by 1.3% from China. The import value increased by 29.1% from USA and by 4.4% from EU while the value decreased by 6.8% from Asia. The import value from China increased by 14.5%.
