Japan Official Copper Price Raised Up to 940,000 yen/t

Nippon Mining & Metals announced on Monday the firm raised official copper ingot price by 20,000 yen to 940,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in August. The price increased to the level as high as 2 weeks ago thanks to weaker yen against US dollar, though the overseas copper markets kept flat. The monthly averaged price became to 943,000 yen with possibility Nippon Mining & Metals revises the official price again within August.Copper spot price at London Metal Exchange declined by US$ 120 to US$ 7,541 per tonne at settlement on Friday from the previous day. LME copper market fluctuated in the very narrow range of US$ 7,541-7,661 during the second half of August.The telegraphic transfer selling rate was 118.26 yen per US dollar on Monday, increasing by 0.55 yen from the previous trading day.
