Yamato Steel Expands H-Beam Rolling Size for Large Users

Yamato Steel, Japanese major H-beam maker, will expand the rolling size capacity for H-beam and start production and sales of products with 800 by 300 millimeters width as a part of the firmer response measurers for users. The firm is testing the rolling process at present and aims to start the sales in October.The firm is the subsidiary of Yamato Kogyo to produce steel products such as H-beam, the main product of Yamato Steel, sheet pile, un-equal angle for shipbuilding and steel castings. The firm produces H-beam at about 40,000 tonnes per month. The firm has advanced the capital investment mainly for H-beam rolling mill in these years. In 2006 the firm stopped the operation for July 25-August 5 and made the motor more powerful. The firm became to be able to roll H-beam with 800 by 300 mm width thanks to the equipment improvement, while the rolling size capacity was limited to the size of 700 by 300 mm width so far.The firm is working closely to sell for specific project as well as to sell for distributors. The firm expanded the size of H-beam because the users strongly demanded the bigger size for the big projects.
