Japan Official Zinc and Lead Prices Revised Down

Mitsui Mining & Smelting announced on Wednesday the firm reduced official zinc ingot price by 35,000 yen to 431,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in September. The price was revised down for the first time since August 18 due to the decline of overseas zinc market. The monthly averaged price became to 441,000 yen.Japanese official zinc price recovered to 466,000 yen per tonne on September 6 from the recent bottom at 410,000 yen on July 25. The price plunged down by 8% from 466,000 yen along the latest revision when the offshore zinc market weakened.Mitsubishi Materials announced on the same day the firm revised down official lead ingot price by 4,000 yen to 198,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in September. The price became to below 200,000 yen again when lead settlement price at London Metal Exchange decreased by US$ 14 to US$ 1,314 per tonne on Tuesday. The monthly average became to 196,000 yen.
