Japan Stainless Cold Flat Import Drops in Julyc

Japanese import of stainless cold rolled flat steel decreased by 9.3% to 3,065 tonnes in July from a year earlier. The import was less than 4,000 tonnes for 2 months in a row and lowest level in 2 years. Cold rolled stainless price surges mainly in Europe and eastern Asia. The import decreased under lowest level of Japanese selling price. The sales volume increased do to worldwide tight supply.
