Japan Government Seeks Rare Metal Recycle Advance

Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan held the 5th meeting of advisory commission on Japanese strategy to procure rare metals stably on Monday. The commission was established to discuss the stable supply of rare metals in Japan by public and private members. The meeting is held 3-4 times per year and the report will be compiled.At the 5th meeting, a committee said the commission should discuss not only state rare metal stockpiling but development of material recycles. Another committee pointed out 30% of Japanese rare metal stockpiling is currently covered by private sectors and more public support is needed to sustain the system, while 7 rare metals are designated as state stock objects.
