Japan Secondary Alloyed Aluminium Makers to Seek Price Hike

Japanese secondary alloyed aluminium ingot makers will offer the users, including die-casting makers, price hike by 10 yen per kilogram for aluminium die-casting products and by more than 10 yen per kg for casting products for October shipment. The makers aim 15-20 yen of hike for casting products to pass surging copper scrap price, which is used as additive metal for secondary alloyed aluminium.Primary aluminium price at London Metal Exchange returned to over US$ 2,700 per tonne in October, while foreign exchange rate of yen maintains weak at around 120 yen per one US dollar. Under the conditions primary aluminium price has surged in Japan and aluminium scrap price has followed the trend.Secondary alloyed aluminium makers are recently suffered from expansion of material prices and productive costs such for packaging and distribution due to the increase of crude oil price. Especially for casting products, the makers need to pass soaring copper scrap price on their selling prices by more hike than die-casting products.
