Japanese steel export increased by 9.6% to 17.879 million tonnes for April-September, 2006 from a year ago, which increased by 11.1% to 1.720999 trillion yen in value, announced by Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. Japanese steel import decreased by 8.2% to 3.91917 million tonnes for April-September from a year earlier, decreasing by 11.5% to 372.934 billion yen in value.
