Japan Carbon Steel Export Rises by 9.7% in September

Japanese carbon steel export increased by 9.7% to 2.035 million tonnes in September from a year earlier, which increased for 5 months in a row, announced by Japan Iron and Steel Federation on Friday. The export increased by 7.9% to 12.519 million tonnes in April-September from same period of 2005. The export increased by 22% for hot rolled wide strip, by 9% for galvanizing steel and by 6% for plate. The total steel export to South Korea increased by 16.6% to 4.552 million tonnes in April-September from same period of 2005. The export to China increased by 8.2% to 3.19 million tonnes. The export to USA increased by 50.6% to 1.074 million tonnes. The export decreased by 1.0% to 1.857 million tonnes for Taiwan and by 14.6% to 1.84 million tonnes for Thailand.
