Brass Bar Price in Weak Tone in Tokyo

Brass bar market price is flat with potential decrease in Tokyo at around 840 yen per kilogram for free-cutting products with 25 millimeters diameter, at around 850 yen per kg for 10 mm diameter and at around 900 yen per kg for 5 mm diameter.Market price keeps flat even after Nippon Shindo decreased its purchasing price for brass turning scrap by more than 20 yen per kg on Monday. Dealers cannot decrease reselling price easily with concerns that copper price might rebound which is the indicator for brass products prices. Other factors also impact dealers that zinc market stays extremely high and that brass bar makers raised their rolling charges.Dealers set reselling price unchanged on and after November 8 when Nippon Shindo raised the purchasing price for brass turning scrap by 13 yen per kg. Dealers are likely to keep wait-and-see stances within this week and the market price would keep flat. However, dealers seem ready to decrease reselling prices impacted by strong offers for price down from users and demand slow down in the market. The market price would decrease by 10-15 yen per kg if Nippon Shindo revises down the purchasing price again next week.
