Japan Steel Export Rises by 16.7% in October

Japanese steel export increased by 16.7% to 2.802 million tonnes in October from a year earlier, announced by Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. The export value increased by 24.6% to 303.689 billion yen. The import increased by 31.5% to 749,188 tonnes and increased by 19.2% to 72.219 billion yen.The steel export increased by 67.5% to European Union in October from a year earlier. The export increased except for Middle East. The export increased by 26.4% to China. The export value increased by 82.9% to EU and the value increased except for Russia. The value increased by 21.2% to China. The steel import increased by 36.2% from Asia in October from a year earlier. The import decreased by 38% from USA and by 8.8% from EU. The import increased by 114.9% from China. The import value increased by 36.1% from Asia and by 92.3% from China while the value decreased by 7.4% from USA and by 5.5% from EU.Japanese total export increased by 11.6% to 6.594 trillion yen in October from a year earlier while the import increased by 17.4% to 5.980 trillion yen. The trade balance was 614.7 billion yen, which was 24.8% lower than that in 2005. The balance decreased for 3 months in a row while the export increased for 35 moths in a row while the import increased for 32 months in a row.
