Japanese copper scrap import increased by 54% to 5,574 tonnes in October from a year earlier, announced Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. Copper demand keeps active in Japan for construction, automobiles and electric consumers. Copper related products makers maintain high operations. On the other hand, copper scrap generation is decreasing domestically and the supply is thin. Japanese copper scrap import exceeded 5,000 tonnes for 2 straight months under the situation.
