Copper Rolled Products Trading Turns Slower in Tokyo

Market research committee of Tokyo Copper Alloy Products Distributors Association gave market review at press conference on Tuesday that copper rolled products demand maintained brisk in Japan in October despite inventory adjustment in some demand fields such as automobile. The committee analyzed market trading became slower in November when the users hold off purchasing of copper rolled products due to continuous decline of copper market. The committee pointed out copper rolled products makers kept active operation with brisk demand in October but shipment was not so active at market dealers. The committee said makers’ high production was supported by remarkable increase of export and domestic demand did not increase as much as export in the month. The committee referred to demand conditions in November that market trading became slower when copper price continued declining and the users take wait-and-see stances even though actual demand keeps the level. The committee gave the view that turning point would come in February 2007 whether copper market could sustain the current level.
