Ferrous scrap price increased by 500 yen to 15,900 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, 18,900 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and 17,900 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to increase more. Hyundai Steel offered higher price for Japanese scrap at the import tender last week, which was increases for 5 weeks in a row. The price was around FOB 29,700 yen per tonne for H2 grade from Tokyo bay, which represented around 1,500 yen higher than averaged FAS 27,260 yen of successful bid at export tender by Kanto Tetsugen in November. Ferrous scrap price is also firm at around 19,000 yen per tonne for H2 around Osaka.
