Brass bar market price keeps flat in Nagoya at around 820 yen per kilogram for free-cutting bar with 25 millimeters diameter, at around 830 yen per kg for 10 mm diameter and at around 880 yen per kg for 5 mm diameter.Mitsui Mining & Smelting raised Japanese official zinc ingot price by 22,000 yen to 574,000 yen per tonne on Wednesday. Nippon Shindo raised the purchasing price for brass turning scrap by 8 yen to 680 yen per kg on Wednesday from the first revision in December, following surge of the official zinc price.Dealers in Nagoya area, who set reselling prices for copper alloy products along the average of the market indicator such as Nippon Shind’s brass turning scrap purchasing price in previous month, already decided to decrease their reselling prices at the beginning of December. Dealer source said they set the price unchanged by next fluctuation of the market indicator.Brass bar demand maintains slow even entering the demand season in winter. Dealers’ selling stances are strong when brass bar with higher cost price arrives soon to their sites from the makers. The market price is under the effect of both weak and strong factors toward year end.
