Japan Aluminium Re-rollers to Keep Renew Extrusion Equipment

Japanese aluminium re-rollers will continue renewal of their aluminium extrusion equipment in 2007. The major sash makers and re-rollers have advanced capital expenditure with expectation for demand increase. They aim to meet demand for both volume and quality by introducing new productive facilities.Sankyo-Tateyama Holdings started commercial operation of a 6,000-tonne press machine which can process 14 and 16 inches products at Shin-Minato Plant of ST Products, the subsidiary of the Holdings, in October 2005. The press machine is in full operation currently. The firm aims to utilize the machine for not only building materials, the main business of the firm, but other aluminium products.YKK AP plans to establish an aluminium extruding factory at Kurobe plant, which can process 14 inches products, with 3.8 billion yen investment. The factory will start operation in October 2007 with 1,200 tonnes of output capacity per month, the main equipment in which is a 6,500-tonne press machine.Sumitomo Light Metal Industries will start operation of a 3,000-tonne press machine at Nagoya plant in August 2007. The firm invests about 3 billion yen to renew aluminium extruding facilities in Nagoya plant and to improve distribution systems. The monthly output would become to around 150 tonnes.
