Ferrous Scrap Market Price Increases around Tokyo

Ferrous scrap market price increased by 2,000 yen per tonne in this week from November around Tokyo. Electric furnace makers raised the purchasing price for it because they prevent that it is exported, and they increases their production. Their purchasing price and export price is increasing. The market price is expected rising around Tokyo in near future.

Electric furnace makers’ purchase price increased by 2,000 yen per tonne to 30,500-31,000 yen for H2 and some pay as high as 32,000 yen, which is firmly fixed.

Dealers purchasing price including freight increased by 2,000 yen per tonne or 9% to around 23,500 yen for H2, around 25,800 yen for H1, and around 27,500 yen for HS around Tokyo from the first half of November.

Some dealers said that they raised their purchase price of ferrous scrap because steel makers increased their purchase price, and the margin keeps between their purchase price and steel makers’ purchase price.
