Ferrous scrap price is firm at 24,500 yen per tonne for H2, 26,800 yen for H1 and 28,500 yen for HS at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep firm when local electric furnace steel makers could increase the purchase prices. Local makers pay 31,500-32,000 yen per tonne for scrap and the price keeps the high level. The makers try to secure materials preparing for the year end holiday. The scrap export price is also firm. Ferrous scrap price is firm at 21,000 yen per tonne for H2 around Osaka.
