Fujikura to Expand Electronic Component Output in China

Fujikura Ltd. announced on Monday the firm expands the output capacity of electronic components at Chinese 2 subsidiaries. The firm expands the output of automobile wiring harness and heat exchanger at subsidiary plant of Fujikura Zhuhai in Zhuhai, Guangdong to complete the 3rd expansion. The group’s connector making firm, DDK (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. built additional plant for the integrated operation from mold making to finished products starting mass production in April 2007 after the setting of facilities. Fujikura Zhuhai tries to increase the annual sales to around 25 billion yen in fiscal 2008 from estimated 12 billion yen in fiscal 2006 while the DDK (Shanghai) will increase the sales to 5 billion yen from 2.7 billion. The Zhuhai’s subsidiary plant will increase the floor space to around 4,300 square meters after the 3rd expansion after 4,300 square meters expansion in the second phase from the start of 5,000 square meters. Fujikura transferred the precision mold making plant in Shanghai, Fujikura Precision Die Co., Ltd., which Fujikura established in 2005, into the plant of DDK (Shanghai) after DDK (Shanghai) expanded the plant to increase the multi-electrode connector output to meet growing demand. DDK (Shanghai) expanded also plating line, press line and mold line. DDK (Shanghai) built 3rd plant expanding the total floor space by around 7,000 square meters from former 10,000 square meters for total 1.3 billion yen. The firm tries to improve the productivity by processing mold making and plating operations.
