Steel Plantech Accepts the order of high Power Leveler from Ilva

Steel Plantech, Japanese major engineering machinery maker, and Sojitz, Japanese major business house, announced on Tuesday that they accepted the order of cold processing leveler for the steel plate from Ilva, integrated steel maker of Liva group in Italy, for the firm’s Taranto Works. Order volume is about 2.1 billion yen. The leveler starts the operation in July 2008. Cold processing leveler is put in carrier line between accelerated cooling equipment and shipping process in the steel plate production line, which sets straight. Ilva will introduce the leveler for the first time in Taranto Works which produces the crude steel at 10 million tonnes per year for the enhancement of the quality for the steel plate for large diameter steel tube used for oil and gas pipe line or shipbuilding, which will build up international competitive power. Steel Plantech’s cold processing leveler has corrective force by twice to 7,200 tonnes for world biggest power from existing equipment, which can keep roll gap equally to tail from leading edge of steel plate by roll gap correction mechanism, and which can decrease the inner remaining stress largely in steel plate that is brought in accelerated cooling equipment. The leveler’s processing capacity is at 8-50 millimeters thick and 4,900 millimeters width of steel plate.
