Nippon Steel Engineering Gets 2 Galvanizing Lines Orders from JISCO

Nippon Steel Engineering announced on Wednesday the firm, Mitsubishi Corporation and Fuji Electric Systems got order for 2 continuous galvanizing lines with related equipments for appliances and high valued construction materials from Jiuquan Iron & Steel group (JISCO) in China. They provide the 2 lines with 400,000 tonnes and 350,000 tonnes of annual output capacity for around 8 billion yen. Nippon Steel Engineering got coated steel line after the order for electro tinplating line from Tata Steel group in late 2006. The firm also got order for large electric furnace from Taiyuan Iron & Steel group and for coke dry quenching from Baotou Iron & Steel group and other 2 steel makers. Jiuquan Iron & Steel group is the largest steel maker in northwest of China and nation owned company with iron ore mine. The firm was 16th largest steel maker with around 5.7 million tonnes of raw steel output in 2005. The firm tries to build 2 continuous galvanizing lines to supply products for appliances and high valued construction applications starting operation in mid-2009. Nippon Steel Engineering won the order in the competition with Voestalpine, Danieli and Chinese 2 providers. Nippon Steel Engineering won the order due to the past record including sales of 31 continuous galvanizing lines worldwide and many Chinese businesses along with the technology. The order is 4th and 5th continuous galvanizing lines in China for Nippon Steel Engineering since the first order in 2002. The firm provides the lines for Kimitsu, Nagoya and Hirohata works of Nippon Steel, which commissioned in 2006. Steel plant business is one of 2 major fields for Nippon Steel Engineering other than marine construction. The firm is the top supplier for blast furnace, coating line, electric furnace and coke dry quenching. The firm enjoys firm demand both at home and abroad including China. The firm expects the order received will reach 60 billion yen for the year to March 2008 compared with estimated 55 billion yen in the year to March 2007.
